Our approach starts with the concrete underneath

Every floor we put down is only as good as the concrete under it. My father taught me that when I was old enough to push a broom, and it's still how I look at every job, so I'd rather turn down work than put a coating on a slab where it won't hold.

Much of the effort on our jobs goes in before the first coat. Our crew grinds the surface open, fills cracks and cleans away dust and old sealer, because a coating can only hold as well as the surface it bonds to. You can read more about how I came to this work on our about page.

Flooring contractor services in DeSoto, TX

Slabline DeSoto Epoxy Flooring is a flooring contractor in DeSoto, TX, and our 16 services cover coating, polishing, staining, sealing and repairing concrete. Homeowners call us about stained or peeling garage floors, basements and pool decks, and businesses call about shop and warehouse floors that take heavy traffic. The price moves with the size of the floor, the shape the concrete is in, how much preparation it needs and the coating or finish you pick. The schedule turns mostly on the repairs the slab needs and how long each coat has to cure before the next. Your written estimate lays out each of those steps for your floor.

  • Gray flake-coated concrete patio beside a house, bordered by garden greenery and supported by porch columns.

We roll a thick, hard epoxy coating over prepared concrete for garages, shops and utility rooms, giving you a floor that wipes clean and resists stains.

  • Close-up of black-and-white flake-coated concrete steps and a matching raised ledge beside a smooth gray floor.

Running a shop, warehouse or showroom? We put down heavier epoxy systems sized to your traffic, forklifts and spills, and plan the work around your business hours.

  • Gray-and-white flake-coated garage floor with a glossy finish and matching raised border.

Garage floor stained, dusty or peeling from an old kit? We grind the slab clean and put down a coating that stands up to cars and tools.

  • A speckled gray polyaspartic floor extends from a garage entrance, bordered by red brick pavers.

Polyaspartic is a coating that cures much faster than standard epoxy, so it suits garages and floors you need back in use with less waiting.

  • Glossy metallic epoxy floor with swirling gray and black patterns beneath dining tables and chairs.

We pour metallic epoxy so the pigments swirl into a deep, marbled look, a good fit for showrooms, basements and living spaces where the floor is on display.

  • Close-up of a glossy gray concrete floor with scattered dark and rust-colored flecks and intersecting control joints.

What floor holds up to hot water, harsh cleaners and heavy wear? Urethane cement, a thick troweled system we install for commercial kitchens, food plants and wash areas.

  • A broad, glossy gray epoxy floor reflects overhead lights in a spacious industrial workshop.

We grind your existing slab with finer and finer diamonds until it shines, giving homes and stores a hard, low-upkeep floor without a coating on top.

  • A gray-and-white flake-coated garage floor fills the room beneath white cabinets and walls.

Stained concrete adds color right into the surface of the slab, so patios, living areas and shops get a warm, mottled look that's then sealed to protect it.

  • A polished, speckled garage floor extends outside an open garage, reflecting light beside a stone garden wall.

We install terrazzo, chips of marble or glass set in a binder and ground smooth, for lobbies, entryways and homes that want a polished, patterned floor.

  • A glossy brown metallic epoxy floor reflects windows in a large commercial interior.

Want a basement that feels like part of the house? We check the slab for moisture first, then coat, polish or level it for a clean, finished floor.

  • Gray speckled coated garage floor stretches beneath two white overhead doors, with a wood-paneled wall and mounted antlers between them.

Every coating needs a clean, open surface to grip, so we grind off sealers, glue and the weak top layer of the slab before a new floor goes down.

  • A glossy gray-and-black speckled concrete floor covers a covered patio beside a glass door and garden.

We seal driveways, patios and bare concrete floors so they soak up less water, oil and stains, and are easier to keep clean.

  • Close view of a glossy gray flake-coated garage floor beside the concrete driveway.

Cracked, pitted or worn concrete doesn't always need tearing out. We bond a thin overlay to the sound slab for a fresh surface without a new pour.

  • Glossy gray and rust-speckled epoxy floor fills a large metal-walled garage with a gray partition and two doorways.

Uneven floor with dips and old patches? We pour a self-leveling mix that flows out flat, ready for tile, wood, vinyl or a coating on top.

  • Dark gray and white speckled coating covers a floor and two broad steps beside a white doorway.

Pool deck cracked, faded or slick when wet? We resurface it with a textured coating that gives wet feet more grip and a clean, even look.

  • Light gray speckled garage floor extends past gray cabinets, with part of a vehicle visible at right.

Before a new floor goes down, the old one has to come off. We strip old epoxy, paint, tile glue and carpet adhesive down to bare concrete.

Reasons people choose Slabline for concrete floors

Plenty of companies can roll a coating onto a floor. What sets us apart is how we handle the parts you can't see once the job is done, and how plainly we talk about them.

  • The person who quotes stays on the job

I come out to see your floor and measure it myself, and I'm on site running our own small crew, so the one who quoted the work is the one making sure it's done right.

  • Real time spent on the slab first

We spend real time grinding, repairing and checking the concrete before anything goes on it, because a floor that lasts begins with the slab underneath.

  • An estimate that names every coat

Your written estimate lists each coat and each step of preparation, so you can set it beside other quotes, compare them fairly and see what you're paying for.

  • A straight answer about your slab

If a coating isn't the right fit or the slab needs other repair first, I'll tell you plainly, even when it means less work for us. Please call (972) 450-9481 or use our contact page.

Our process from your first call to the walk-through

Here's how a job runs with us, whether it's a single garage or a shop floor. You deal with me from the first visit to the final walk-through.

  1. Call or send a message

Call (972) 450-9481 or send a message through our form, and tell us a little about the floor, whether it's a garage, basement, pool deck or shop. We reply to every call and message within one business day to find a time for me to come out.

  2. I measure and write it up

I come out to see the floor, measure it and ask how the space gets used. If I'm not sure the job needs a permit, I check with the city's building office before quoting. You then get a free written estimate naming each step, with no obligation, and we settle on a time that suits you.

  3. Our crew does the work

Our own small crew prepares the concrete, puts down the coating or polish and cleans up, with me on site running the work. When a job needs a permit, we pull it ourselves and plan the work around the city's inspections.

  4. We walk the finished floor

When the last coat is down, I walk the finished floor with you so you can see the work up close and ask anything you like. I'll also tell you when it's ready for foot traffic and cars, and how to keep it clean.

Help choosing the right floor for your space

Most people call knowing they want more than bare concrete, but not which floor. At the visit I check the slab for cracks, moisture and old sealers, then explain what epoxy, polyaspartic, polished or stained concrete would each mean for your space. For a garage that sits in the sun with the door up, I usually lean toward polyaspartic, because it holds its color better.

  • A close look at the slab before any floor is chosen

  • The trade-offs between coating, polishing and staining for your floor

  • A free written estimate naming each coat and step

  • Measurements taken on site by me, the one running the job
